| Innovations continue to enhance the elearning experience.
Elearning may appear to be a mature development but it is truly in its infancy. New technologies continue to evolve and capabilities, as well as expectations, continue to advance. Many experts are analysing these trends and attempting to determine the future of elearning. It seems fair to suggest that elearning, and learning in general, will undergo significant changes.
An important factor in the future of elearning will be that almost unlimited access to of bandwith. As a result, the types of vehicles used to present course material will expand, utilizing multimedia, video and videoconferencing. Computers will become more efficient and more dependable. Processing speed will increase dramatically, as will memory.
One of the most significant developments in the future of elearning will be the PAD or Personal Access Device. Currently, the most essential tools are the textbook, notepad and pen or pencil. A PAD will combine all of these utilities into one unit that will provide Internet access to online text and contain a writing surface that recognizes and stores your handwritten notes.
It is conceivable that almost any subject will be able to be presented over the World Wide Web as elearning continues to develop. As a result, we may have the opportunity to learn throughout our lives.
