The University was formerly known as The Florida Metropolitan University. The University has locations throughout Florida that include Brandon, Jacksonville, Lakeland, Largo, Melbourne, Orange Park, Orlando, Pompano Beach and Tampa, as well as having distance learning online.
Programs
Everest University offers various distance learning programs that include associates, bachelors and masters degrees in various fields of study the include accounting, applied management, business administration, computer information science, Criminal Investigation, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, medical insurance billing and collection, and paralegal. When students graduate with degrees in any of these fields, there are many job opportunities that await them.
The school is also geared towards military students as it provides a military scholarship that is equal to 15% of the tuition for active-duty personnel, student services staff that have military training, career-placement services, credit transfers for military experience and accredited institutions.
Accreditation
The University is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, which is a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education. The Council for Higher Education Accreditation also recognizes this institution, as well as the Florida Commission for Independent Education. For the Phoenix campus, the institution is accredited by the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education. The paralegal program that is offered at this school is accredited by the American Bar Association, Standing Committee on Legal Assistants.
