Florida Tech University - Online Degree Programs

Overview
Florida Tech University was established in 1958 as a technical school and is located in Melbourne, Florida. The University has undergone some dramatic changes following a $50 million grant that has given by the F.W. Olin Foundation that has been used by Florida Tech to build three new facilities that will be used for three departments, which are physical science, life science and engineering.
The University’s online degree program is a part of the University Alliance. This alliance includes other college and universities such as Villanova, Tulane, Thunderbird, and The University of Scranton among others. By being a part of this alliance, Florida Tech can provide an online class experience that is better than a live class because of the state-of-the-art interactive delivery system that is used. In addition, students can engage in a live chat room, no campus attendance is required, MP3 lecture downloads and faculty hosted message boards.
Programs
Florida Tech provides various online degree programs that can be awarded in the form of an associates or bachelors degree. Some of the fields of study include accounting, business administration, Criminal Justice, marketing, liberal arts, computer information systems, and management. Students who graduate with these online degrees will be able to find in-demand jobs in both the public and private sector.
Accreditation
Florida Tech is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. This accreditation allows the school to grant associate, bachelors, masters, education specialist and doctoral degrees. Florida Tech University is also approved by the Office of Education of the U.S. Department of Education, is a member of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida, as well as the American Society for Engineering Education and the American Council on Education. These accreditations allow the university their degree programs online.

Awards and Accolades
The University has received awards and accolades from various magazines and publications. Most notably is that U.S. News& World Report listed the school among America’s Best Colleges, Barron’s Guide listed the University as a Best Buy in college education, and the Doctoral program in industrial/organizational psychology is rated 2nd in the nation.
Admissions
Florida Tech requires all students who are applying to the undergraduate degree programs to be at least 22 years of age or active in the military, submit an application and $75 fee, as well as provide proof of prior education experience or GED. The process is made to be easy so that students can begin earning their online degree as soon as possible.
Tuition and Financial Aid
The University charges $645 per credit hour for a masters degree in Information Technology and $790 per credit hour for an MBA. Each degree requires an $85 application fee. The University also accepts credit cards, as well as list institutions that provide private education loans. Students are also able to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form to see what type of federal student aid can be provided to them for their online education.
