Globe University - Online Degree Programs

Overview
This private, for-profit, university was started in 1885. The school is owned by the Terry Myhre family and has seven locations, in addition to its online campus, which include Eau Claire, La Crosse, Madison, Middleton Wisconsin, Minneapolis and Woodbury Minnesota, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Individuals that enroll in the Globe University's distance learning program will find that it is easy to get a degree by not having to worry about driving to a campus, as well as having the flexibility to decide when and where you want to take a course, with the ability to complete the program in less than four years. For individuals in the military, the program is perfect for those that are in active-duty.
Programs
Globe University offers various online accredited degrees in fields that include business administration, management, accounting, cosmetology business, Criminal Justice, health fitness specialist, health care management, information technology, paralegal, sales and marketing and more.
These programs have been designed in with the assistance of an advisory board that is made up of employers and professionals from each online degree program. With a degree from Globe University, students can become employed in fields that include law enforcement, private security, hospitality, management positions, and more.
Accreditation
Globe University is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges, which allows this education institution to award online accredited degrees that include associates, bachelors, and masters, as well as diplomas, and certificates. The University touts that they have over 130 years of teaching experience. The University is also accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
Globe University has several approvals from various state agencies that include the Minnesota State Approving Agency for Veterans’ Education, the South Dakota Department of Military and Veterans Affairs State Approval Agency, the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs State Approval agency, the Minnesota Board of Nursing and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. All of these accreditations and approvals allow the university to provide an excellent online education for its students.

Admissions
Globe University recommends that individuals who are interested in taking part in their distance learning school to view the virtual tour of the online campus and engage in a telephone interview. Once the tour and interview have been completed, students can submit their application online, along with the required documentation.
Students who have prior learning and/or professional work experience may be able to get credit that can be used towards the intended degree program. The type of learning that the college will consider includes professional training, licenses, coursework earned from a non-transferrable institution, CLEP tests, DANTES tests, AP tests and SkillSoft tests. For professional work experience, Globe University will consider the skills that were acquired in a supervisory or management position in a industrial, business, military, professional or service organization.
