Grand Canyon University was founded in 1949 as a private, non-profit, educational institution that is located in Phoenix, Arizona. The school was purchased by Significant Education LLC in 2004, which converted the school a for-profit institution.

Admissions
The admission requirement to enroll in the online continuing education program is a bachelors degree from an accredited institution and an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.8, with 2 years of full-time work experience. The University will allow certain credits to be transferred into their programs as long as the credits are transferred from a regionally accredited institution. The maximum allowable credits that can be transferred from any junior college, community college, technical school, or military service are 64.
Tuition and Financial Aid
The tuition that is required to enroll in the University’s distance learning programs is between $250 and $535 per credit hour. There are also additional fees that are charged by the University that include a drop fee of $30, withdrawal fee of $75, health insurance fee of $750, graduation fee of $200 and more.
The University will accept payment for tuition in cash, credit card, a payment plan through ECSI Tuition Payment Plan that will spread the semester tuition into monthly payments, as well as military benefits for payment options. There are also scholarships and grants that students can apply for to help offset the overall cost of tuition. Students can also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form to see what types of Federal student aid is available for their degree programs online.
