Post University is a for-profit educational institution that was founded in 1890 and is owned by Generation Partners. The college is located in Waterbury, Connecticut and it also has satellite campuses, in addition to its online campus, that are located in Meriden, Danbury and Norwalk Connecticut.
Programs
There are various distance learning programs that are offered by Post University that result in associates, bachelors, and masters degrees. The various fields of study include human services, business administration, accounting, finance, management, marketing, child studies, computer information systems, criminal justice, legal studies, sports management, and more.
The University also offers professional certificates in areas of study that include CPA examination preparation accounting certificate, early childhood education, finance, forensic accounting, human resource management, legal nurse consulting and more.
Accreditation
Post University is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Colleges and Schools. The university is also licensed by the State of Connecticut through the Department of Education. These accreditations allow the university to bestow online degrees.

Post University has received awards and accolades from various magazines and publications. Most recently, the University was among the Top 20 Online Universities in the Nation and was ranked as number 18. This was the third year in a row that the University was included in the ranking that was compiled by the Online Education Database, which is a national resource for online degree programs.
Admissions
To become enrolled at this distance learning university, individuals will need to complete an application, provide documentation from your high school that you graduated by submitting your transcript or a GED certificate. The University also allows students to potentially transfer credits from a previous educational institution.
Tuition and Financial Aid
The tuition that is required to enroll at the distance learning programs at Post University is approximately $450 per credit hour. The University does have additional fees and expenses that are charged each semester that are particular to a degree program.
The University does offer assistance in preparing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form that can be submitted to find out what type of federal student aid is available. Students are also able to apply for private education loans, as well as grants and scholarships.
Post University offers a discounted tuition rate for members of all branches of the military. This rate is $750 per course for associates and bachelor degrees and $399 per credit hour for masters degrees. The University will cover the costs of all books and fees, as well as award credits based on prior military experience.
