Saint Leo University is a private, Roman catholic school that has 2 campuses, 16 continuing education centers and an online division. The main campus is located in Florida, while the center for online learning locations can be found in Georgia, Florida, California, South Carolina, Mississippi, Virginia and Texas. Their online continuing education division began in 1998 . The total school enrollment has reached 14,000 students.
The school first opened its doors in 1890 and was the first Catholic institution in the state of Florida. It was formerly known as Saint Leo College. Saint Leo University ranks in the Top 20 largest Catholic schools in the United States.
Programs
The online education offered by the Saint Leo University allows students to combine traditional classroom coursework with the flexible schedule that they need. Their online degree programs are available to students in over 33 countries. The university also hosts exchange students from Italy, Chile, France, China, Switzerland and England.
Saint Leo's offers an array of online bachelor degree programs as well as online associate degrees. It has majors in business administration, liberal arts, criminal justice, accounting, health care management, psychology, computer information systems, human resources, and management. The school has had 5,000 graduates achieve their goals through their distance learning online.
Students and faculty have access to the school's virtual campus called Second Life. This virtual world allows everyone to interact with each other through voice technology and text chatting.
Accreditation
Saint Leo University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. This enables them to award associate, bachelor, master and specialist degrees. They are also a party of the American Council on Education, the State of Florida Department of Education, Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida, the National Collegiate Honor Society and many more.

Awards
Saint Leo University is ranked in the top 5 largest Catholic institutions in the nation. In 2008, they took fourth place for the number of African American student that graduate with a bachelor's in management, business or marketing. These awards also take into consideration degree programs online.
Admissions
Students can apply for admission by filling out the university's application, paying the $35 application fee, providing a high school transcript or GED, as well as college transcripts if applicable. International students are required to have a passing score on the TOEFL for English language proficiency.
Tuition & Financial Aid
Online courses range from $440 per credit hour. There are various scholarships, grants, work-study and federal government programs that students can apply for that also includes military personnel discounts. The university is actually the sixth largest provider of higher education for the military.
